There are numerous street fairs in the counties and towns in the region such as The Apple Festival held annually in Hendersonville. Asheville is home to Bele Chere, the Southeast’s largest street fair held annually in July. French for “beautiful living”, Bele Chere is held on the streets of historic Downtown Asheville and features four stages of free live music, street entertainers, food, arts and crafts, and an area for children.






Spring Events & Festivals

The Blue Ridge Parkway celebrates its 75th Anniversary this year with events from being held in Asheville, Roanoke and other cities along the Parkway. With events from music to arts to bike fests, there is something offered for everyone.   The Charles Counts: Retrospective Exhibition  features ceramics, quilts, drawings and paintings of this celebrated American Craftsman.  Brewgrass, Asheville's own Oktoberfest, features locally brewed beers and musicians.

Summer Events & Festivals

Poet Keith Flynn will open this year's Poetry on the Porch of the Old Kentucky Home
 at the Thomas Wolfe House Memorial.  The summer would not be complete without  Asheville Art in the Park, "from pottery to jewelry to sculpture and two-dimensional art", the event is a great way to see downtown Asheville and meet some of the local artisans.  Labor Day weekend features the popular NC Apple FestivalThe festival covers 9 blocks of Main Street in downtown Hendersonville with more than 150 vendors.
